    ECEWS, in collaboration with Zipline International Inc, will implement a Program titled "Solving the Barriers to HIV Prevention & Treatment Among Nigeria’s Highest Risk Youth" in Cross River State. This initiative, funded by the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF), seeks to boost demand for HIV services among adolescents and young people, linking testing directly to care and mental health services. The program will work through existing CBO networks to expand access to integrated services in communities, ensuring safe, convenient, and consistent care for AYP and AYKPs.

Job Summary

The M&E Associate will be responsible for the implementation, and management of the project monitoring and evaluation framework. He/She will ensure that program activities are evaluated for effectiveness and that data is accurately collected, analyzed, and reported. The M&E Associate will work closely with project staff, community-based organizations, and relevant stakeholders to enhance program performance and support evidence-based decision-making.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation framework that aligns with project objectives and indicators.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to community-based organization on M&E processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Support data collection processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting of program activities and outcomes.
  • Ensure that data collected is of high quality and meets ethical standards.
  • Develop tracking systems, and reporting templates to support data-driven decision making.
  • Manage and maintain databases to ensure the security and integrity of program data.
  • Conduct regular data analysis to assess program performance and identify trends, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare periodic reports and presentations on project outcomes, progress, and challenges for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure findings from M&E activities are integrated into program planning and implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements and organizational policies related to project reporting, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor program implementation and verify data accuracy.
  • Conduct client satisfaction survey and utilize results/feedback to inform program strategies and improve services delivery.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on program activities, outcomes, and challenges encountered during implementation.
  • Contribute to the documentation and dissemination of lessons learned from program implementation to relevant stakeholders.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned to support project implementation and goals.

Minimum Recruitment Standard

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, Social Sciences, Statistics, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation in health-related international development programs, particularly in HIV/AIDS or public health initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems, NGOs and CBOs is required.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R).
  • Experienced conducting client satisfaction survey especially in health-related programs.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
